Animal Crossing: City Folk Confirmed

As the Nintendo Keynote goes on, the flow of information is picking up speed. Good ol’ Mr. Satoru Iwata just filled in the world on the next Animal Crossing game for the Wii. Highlights center on a new peripheral, Wii Speak, that will sit atop the sensor bar on your television. That’s right: an online Nintendo game will have voice chat. This is a landmark event!

Also dropped were a few features enhanced character customization, a new shopping system, the ability to use your Mii in your town, and of course the Animal Crossing essentials of room and home design. It’s here!

Future followup discussions in the coming hours will, I’m sure, bring into focus just how massive this potential MMO truly is. Can’t wait!

From the few videos I saw, it looked like they had just repackaged the GC version after adding in a bigger city plaza. The townsfolk were the same, the talking bubbles were the same, the houses looked the same, I mean EVERYTHING looked the same including the graphics. Personally I’m disappointed and I enjoyed the original AC. Although the videos I saw did not point out all the new features which do sound pretty good.
