Dragon Quest IV DS Hits September 16

All you weary RPG fans will soon have a reason to dust off the old DS this Fall, because Square-Enix has (finally) given us a release date for the remake of DQ IV. September 16th’s the word, and you can bet your bonnet I’ll be givin’ that baby a preorder.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the chosen saw its debut on the Famicom way back in 1990, and won respect all over the nations to the East for fun combat and engaging character customization. It’s new baby brother on the DS has the benefit of significant visual improvements, as well as what I hope to be a more accessible playstyle to win over the more casual crowd. The game has remarkable depth, and I can’t wait to get my grubby paws on it.

One more noteworthy object is that the teaser site launched by Square-Enix that shows us this release date also lists Dragon Quest V and VI as upcoming titles, one would assume on the DS. Looks like the localization team over at SE has a lot of work to do to make us western RPG fans happy.
