Killzone 2 falls to ‘09, Little Big Planet Drops a Month

Sony, please! Have mercy! I understand that the games you keep pushing back are big ones, but I did so have my heart set on you dominating the fourth quarter of ‘08! Now with Killzone 2 joining Prototype in the muck of 2009, and Little Big Planet losing another month with a release now marked October, i’m really going to have to milk MGS4. The folks of SCEE just came out and said it. No Killzone until 2009.

This info all came out during Sony Playstation Day in London, and good old Kaz Hirai also threw in an apology for the delay(s) of Home, and says it won’t go live until he’s happy with it.

The loss of Killzone 2 as an ‘08 release will make the fourth quarter particularly interesting for that whole ‘Microsoft vs. Sony’ thing. Microsoft’s slate for Holiday ‘08 is primarily bolstered by Fable 2 and Gears of War 2, while Sony is now relying heavily on Resistance 2 and Little Big Planet to make up some ground as its main grand-scale exclusives.
