No Prototype Until ‘09

A story over on Gamespot has drawn out some sad information concerning the highly anticipated Prototype. Seems as though the folks at Sierra need a little more time to get everything all perdy like with Prototype, saying “we need more time to deliver the game the team initially set out to create.” I suppose we can’t be too upset if the delay is for quality’s sake, right? The game has reportedly been pushed back to an unknown Quarter of 2009.

Some early speculation suggests that this extra time to work on the game could be regarding the multiplayer and co-op modes that were originally announced as a feature, but were later swept under the rug.

For anyone who doesn’t know, Assassin’s Creed Prototype is the next big Sandbox/Action title to plop a player down in a thriving city and say “go for it, dude.” The highlight this time around seems to be focussed on two things: making a million crazy tentacles shoot out of your body in every direction, and punching all the way through a man’s chest. I give it an A+.
