Final Fantasy IV Truckin’ on Out to NA

It would seem that Nintendo Power unofficially declared that the remake of Final Fantasy IV would be coming to the Americas in July of ‘08, but no one noticed. What were all the fanboys doing? They really dropped the ball on this one. Regardless, now we can all rejoice, as one of the most highly regarded installments in the FF franchise is, after all the doubt and worry, coming to our fat American (Canadian?) hands after all.

RPG Fan is also confirming the game’s western migration, and it would seem that we’ll be hearing the good news straight from the mouth of Iwata himself in a matter of days.

Final Fantasy IV has seen a remake before, being brought over to the GBA in 2005, though the only real change was the font on the menus. It’s really surprising this game hasn’t seen more action over the years, since it was the landmark game for most Western RPG fans. Now that we’ve finally got a proper remake, we’ll get what we’re craving with voice acting, CG cutscenes, and a chance to relive some of the most important moments in Final Fantasy History. “You Spoony Bard!”

Fantastic. I didn’t know it at first, but this is the reason my DS was made.
