Undertow: Path of the Elect[ing not to play]

I have yet to really dive into the Xbox Live Arcade market. It may provide some cheap fun for a few hours but I prefer gaming in the traditional sense, spending a lot of money for a few more hours of fun.

One of the titles that I have played is called Undertow. A quaint side scroller where you control tadpoles or sea horses or people? The aim of the game is simple, take over territories and don’t lose control of them. Overall, I was underwhelmed, the game achieved what it wanted, I had a mild amount of fun for about an hour. I washed my hands put in Mass Effect and I was down with Undertow and XBLA for the foreseeable future.

But wait! Undertow has an expansion that is released tomorrow called, “Undertow: Path of The Elect. The expansion includes 5 new levels and some new and exciting co-op features. That’s not all folks…a new race to play as called the “Elect”. While playing as the “Elect” you get to make poor decisions surrounding your community, misappropriate your budget, and start unnecessary wars with developing colonies. Does an XBLA title really need an expansion?

It’s worth mentioning that it’s probably not a good idea to judge the XBLA, which is an ASSEMBLY of titles, on one “pass” title. Get some effing Puzzle Fighta’ up in hurrr!
