SEGA games. Usually they are best avoided. Today is the exception, with the confirmation of Valkyrie of the Battlefield hitting Canadian (and American) shores in the fall. It was wishy-washy ever since the game was announced whether or not it would make the trip, but it looks like the fanboy-whining has been heard by the ever vigilant over at SEGA America. We are pleased.

In case you don’t know, Valkyrie of the Battlefield is a strategy game, but using its “BLiTZ” combat system, the player controls the characters in bits of real-time, third-person, action-shooter… thingies. Besides the new and exciting combat system bringing further immersion in a normally slow-paced genre, the game looks positively gorgeous. Sega claims that their CANVAS engine fully utilizes the power of the PS3, no easy feat I’m sure.
