Valkyrie of the Battlefield confirmed for North America! Joy!

val06.jpgSEGA games. Usually they are best avoided. Today is the exception, with the confirmation of Valkyrie of the Battlefield hitting Canadian (and American) shores in the fall. It was wishy-washy ever since the game was announced whether or not it would make the trip, but it looks like the fanboy-whining has been heard by the ever vigilant over at SEGA America. We are pleased.

In case you don’t know, Valkyrie of the Battlefield is a strategy game, but using its “BLiTZ” combat system, the player controls the characters in bits of real-time, third-person, action-shooter… thingies. Besides the new and exciting combat system bringing further immersion in a normally slow-paced genre, the game looks positively gorgeous. Sega claims that their CANVAS engine fully utilizes the power of the PS3, no easy feat I’m sure.

Excitement!
